a good impulse
November 2nd, 2007 at 08:26 pm by wRitErsbLock in UncategorizedI love that we can be spontaneous. With both of us taking today off from work, and with me being sick all week, we were not sure what we were going to do today. We decided to head over to Kennedy Space Center for the day, as there’s an event going on this weekend. We talked about it last night and sent an email to Frank and Sarah (because they’re also pass holders) letting them know KSC was a distinct possibility for today. We wanted to wait and see how I felt in the morning to see if I’d be up for that much activity.
Well, I was still tired, but KSC was definitely something I wanted to do today. So we headed that way. I am so glad we did! They had three event enclosed (which means air conditioned) tents set up full of booths explaining various aspects of the space industry. It was complete with freebies. We heart freebies. We ended up getting really cool postcards and calendars and space-themed advertising pens. There was a lot of hands on activities, like putting hands inside astronaut gloves and attempting to pick up items like legos. One of the most fascinating exhibits, however, was a table that had tiles from the bottom of the shuttle. So cool.
I’m downloading pictures and will get them posted. But I owe Amanda pictures from Busch Gardens from last weekend first.
