I never gave you a November update on this whole paid blogging thing. Here’s an early December update.

As you know, I did my first paid post on August 10th. I am now working for three companies: PayPerPost, PayU2Blog, and rarely Linkworth. Here’s the recap of funds received and pending funds:

We’ve been catching up on bills and are almost completely caught up. As you know, we have done some frivolous spending, too, which felt great!

The PPP well is drying up for me, and I’m very sad about that. Since Google bitch slapped me a couple weeks ago, smacking me from a 4 down to a 0, my opportunities I am eligible to write for have drastically decreased in number. PPP acknowledged the Google bitch slap and began their own Real Rank system. My rank is different every single day. Sadly, my rank has only made me eligible for between ten and fifteen opps per day, all of them under $10. And usually the opps are already taken before I get a chance to claim one for myself. This is very unfortunate as they’ve been a great source of income for me.

Meanwhile, I tweaked my settings on PU2B to increase the number of posts I want to do for them each month. At $5 for 60 words, I am appreciating them more and more. Especially since the PPP $5 opps generally want 100-300 words. I am disinclined to do the posts that want too many words for too little money.

I keep hoping for more work from Linkworth. SarahK hearts them, and I still really want to heart them. But I’ve only done one opp for them so far.

That’s where I am on paid blogging. Overall I’m thrilled. My goal going into this was to generate $100 per month. I have far exceeded that. And as long as I can keep my original goal in mind, maybe I won’t resent being bitch slapped by Google so much. After all, any increased income is a blessing. And perhaps I should stop being a snob and snatch up some of the “undesirable” $5 opps at PPP, because some money is better than no money. But I truly think you guys would resent some of the topics I have refused to write about and would either stop reading me entirely, or send me hate mail. So, I’ll continue to ignore the less appealing opps at PPP and hope for more opps from PU2B and Linkworth.
