Those two guys behind me were so funny and encouraging. I totally crossed the finish line several minutes before them! The woman beside me, we'll call her Candy. Candy is also training with TNT for the Disney Marathon. We just met today, but it turns out we've been going to Monday night trainings together. I really, really suck on the first half. For the first four miles, we maintained a walk two minutes run one pace. Well, but for the start of the race when peer pressure had us running right off and running for several minutes. At the park at Lake Underhill and Conway, Max and I had to take a potty break in one of the scariest public restrooms ever; Candy kept going.
After our very brief potty break, the pace car caught up to us, and the pick-up-the-slow-pokes van. Can I tell you how much I hate have the pace cars following me? Hate it. At one point, in the school zone on Conway just before Curry Ford, the pace cop hollered out his window to me (I was alone, as my girls were way ahead of me at that time) to find out if I was okay. I said, "well, this cop car keeps stalking me, but other than that, I'm fine." He said, "I'll take care of your stalker!" And with that, I forced myself to run more and was able to catch back up to my team mates just in time for the pictures.
I do much better on the back half, apparently. I was energized and a perky cheerleader for Max and Candy. It worked out well, then, since they had to carry me for the first half that I could carry them the back half.
I was shooting for a two hour run, but it ended up being roughly two-fifteen. Track Shack does not yet have the times posted from the chip trackers. I'll update the time once it's posted. I finished a little before Candy and Max, got my medal, and if you can believe it, ran back to before the finish line so I could cheer my girls on.
We totally Rawk!
Does anyone know how I can calibrate my iPod? It is clearly way off on mileage tracking.

Your 2¢
You go girl!!! And it is better to know your iPod is off now than two months from now. You can alter your training accordingly.
There are some races where they have staff as the last people so nobody feels bad. I don’t know if Disney does that or not…
I’m so proud of you!
