After dinner, we went to the new Super Target at SoDo. MIL said she saw an open sign when she drove by there, so we decided to check it out, even though the grand opening is not until tomorrow. Kids, I love this new Target! But mostly because I’m easily amused.

First of all, SoDo (SOuth of DOwntown orlando) is going to be a great plaza when it’s done. It’s a more compact Waterford. And it’s mixed use, so there will be offices and condos/apartments there on the upper levels. Right now, only Target, TJ Maxx, and something else are open.

We parked in the parking garage above the Target and took the escalator down to the fabulous new store. The store itself is laid out all wrong, but that’s okay. It opened on Sunday, so it’s all pretty and clean. We bought the items we required (toilet paper and orange juice). Oh, side note, the larger containers of OJ: expired 09/03/08. I picked up three different bottles, and they all had the same expired date. I had to get the smaller, unexpired bottle. Funny, though, that a brand new store would already have expired products.

Anyway… we checked out and left, and found…. a shopping cart escalator! Yes, yes, we’re easily amused. It’s like what they have at the IKEA in Atlanta.

We said we’ll have to get a cart every time we go just to use the cart escalator.

So, the new Target is great, just don’t buy the expired juice.
