tacos
August 15th, 2006 at 11:22 am by wRitErsbLock in UncategorizedBecause RTY loves Chipotle so much, we decided to make tacos at home on Sunday night. RTY prefers the chicken tacos, which is unfortunate because Jim and I prefer beef, so Jim marinated and cooked the chicken while I fried up corn tortillas and shaped them into taco shapes. I had great fun frying the tortillas; I’m glad we decided to fry our own rather than buying crunchy shells. (There is a divide in the family over the soft/crunchy taco question.)
RTY ate three or four tacos. Translation: this was a successful dinner. We didn’t even have to encourage her to eat.
At the end of the meal, RTY said, “next time you want tacos, let’s just go to Chipotle.”
Um. No. Making them at home was more fun and less expensive. It was kind of like making home-made pizza or fondu: it kept her involved and made meal time more fun for her.
And it tasted good, too.
