Carnival of Comedy #38
January 19th, 2006 at 12:00 am by wRitErsbLock in UncategorizedWelcome to the 38th annual Carnival of Comedy! Sponsored, in part, by the fine folks at IMAO, IMAO Podcast, Carnival of Comedy, and The Conservative Cat.
I have a confession to make: I am not a funny person. That’s why I was so skeptical about taking on the hosting responsibility. I am not generally inclined to laugh out loud; this is a character flaw, I’m sure. Fortunately for you, my wonderful husband (who I love with all my heart) read through all the entries and helped me assign them into categories of funniness. Here we go:
Be sure to pee before you read:
Peace Moonbeam posted a hilarious account of saving animals in true PETA style with an Undercover PETA Party.
Dan Melson of SearchlightCrusade posted the Top Smart Replies of 2005. Some language concerns, so read silently in your cubicle and no one will get hurt.
Amusing, but no risk of soiling your armor:
Ben ranted and raved about Frank J.’s true self in A Shocking Character Assassination Piece.
Buckley F. Williams has the Top 9 Statements That Would Make Ted Kennedy Cry.
Vox Poplar posted some Canadian Election Exclusives.
Damian G. provided an unbiased book review of the latest (and greatest?) Ted Kennedy book.
Eh:
Jeffrey Strain spent his Friday the 13th finding humor in Funny Money.
Jerry Monaco and the Governor of Kentucky discover the real reason we’re at war: Intelligent Design.
Cowboy Blob has some insight into this whole Honor Martin Luther King thing.
The Dimmer Switch posted about never-before-seen scenes from the Will Alito be Confirmed documentary. Reserve your copy of the DVD now. Supplies limited. Some exclusions apply.
Lyn Perry posted a plethora of pictures of pompous puppies pontificating at a Japanese Dog Fashion Show.
Striving for Average Tommy transcribed Ray Nagin’s speech on Chocolate City.
Vox Poplar also posted an exclusive interview with the New York Times leaky reporter in the Leak Speaks.
a4g posted an article and picture about the death of a top Al-Qaeda Bombmaker.
More ironic than ha ha:
Fiar over at Radioactive Liberty redesigned the Game of Real Life.
Mensa Barbie posted pictures to decide who is the Most Fortunate country.
Not appearing in this carnival:
Centrerion tried to submit, but the link went nowhere. Sorry. Unless if the error message is some sort of Canadian humor?
Future Carnivals will be hosted by the fine folks who brought you such timeless classics as:
January 26th - #39: Michael Fitch at Radioactive Liberty
February 2nd - #40: Taleena over at Sun Comprehending Glass
February 9th - #41: Some unsuspecting schmuck
February 16th - #42: Sherlock over at Bakerstreet (hey Spacemonkey, he hasn’t emailed you to volunteer, so consider this his “request” to host)
Thanks for stopping by. I hope these little bits of funny helped break up the monotony of your day.

Your 2¢
You may not be funny, but as AO so succinctly put it, “you tell good stories”.
Eh? Well, you must not have been in a funny mood. Every time I re-read my own joke I laugh. But then I laugh when I look in the mirror. lol. Thanks for the link and putting together the carnival. lgp
see, that’s the problem with hosting: I have to decide which entries are funniest and group them.
Lyn, my husband wanted me to link to a picture of him for the carnival, because he says he laughs at the mirror too!
Thank you for your kind comments and great job of hosting!
In case of confusion, “Michael Fitch” and “FIAR” are one and the same, I’m not sure who “Micael” Fitch is though… Ahem, Spacemonkey.
“FIAR” is an acronym for Fitch is always right. That’s the name I post under, but I have no problem with the use of my real name, as I use that for self refrences in my posts.
FIAR, I figured I’d chance it and spell it with the H. thanks for clarifying!
To those who were insulted by my lack of sense of humor, I’m sorry. But I did put that disclaimer up there about not being a funny person.
