032109: Welcome internet searchers! Orlando Tea Party Pics from March 21st posted.
This will be mostly pictures with very little commentary.

I arrived at Lake Eola at 1130a, and the event was scheduled to begin at noon. This was my view as I approached:

Channels 9 and 13 were there.

You know why there’s a 2nd Amendment? In case the government fails to follow the 1st one.

Honk if you will pay my mortgage!

Keep the change. I’ll keep my freedom, my guns and my money.

Cork the Pork.

No Public Money for Private Failure.

My favorite sign:
One
Big
Ass
Mistake,
America!

Vote Union Destroy America.

Meanwhile, across Robinson Street, this guy was sitting. Let’s see… laptop, web cam… I’m thinking Live Blogging the event?

They opened with prayer.

Praying for our country.

It was nice to hear so many people saying the Pledge to the flag.

The guy in blue is Jason Hoyt. He organized the event.

Repeal or Retire!

I’m not shy; I got right up onto the “stage” with the speakers to take pictures of the crowd.

What’s a tea party without tea? They had copies of the stimulus plan for people to crumple up and throw into the tea.

I think the author of this book was the guy in the suit that spoke.

Don’t Make Me Pay For Your Mistakes.

He was only stopped to turn, but, my what an intimidating vehicle!

I wanted to have my picture taken, too, so I asked someone to take it.

The next Tea Party, that I know of, is on March 21st. Mark your calendar. It is time for the silent majority to speak up. Be heard! Be a nuisance to those who would ignore us.

The kids at the private school across the street chanted “No more taxes!” and someone took video:

  13. Eileen Reed Said,

I attended the Orlando Tea Party yesterday with “like minded” Patriots. We had a wonderful, peaceful, dignified protests of the rampant spending in Congress. We began with a prayer and a pledge to the flag which I believe was the most perfect opening to the Tea Ceremony.

I am 60 years old and this is the very first time that I have publicly protested anything in my life, much less participated in some of the planning. I will no longer live out here in the woods of Citrus County and whine and complain about the direction our country is headed. In my opinion is a straight road to Socialism. A road with very few off-ramps, I might add. My voice will now be heard.

Please join us for the March 21st Tea Party held by http://www.floridiansunite.com.

Also visit http://www.myamericanism.com to join others who believe in making our country a better place to live.

  14. Tina Said,

Looks like you had a good turnout, and the signs were great. There was one in Okla. City, but I missed it. I didn’t find out about it in time to get there.

They are planning one for 4/15 and another for 7/4, I’ll try to make both of those.

  15. mary king Said,

loved the tea party, going totry to go to the march in washington. Out of the mouth of a 9year old came a lot of truth. “Obama stop the spending I don’t have a job yet, and you are already spending my money.” This goverment spending and the corruption and spending in the big corporations has got to stop. Right now people in America are afraid to invest if they have any money left over, from paying taxes on everything that politicians can think of. Wake up America this is our money that is being wasted. Thank you all
    and GOD BLESS AMERICA

    MARY

  16. Christy Said,

I just saw on your comment about Jason organizing the event, I wanted to clarify the Jason had NOTHING to do with this event. He organized the Tea Party on the 27th of February… NOT this one. Lisa Feroli of Floridians Unite organized the event… see orlandoteaparty.com

  17. sandy shores Said,

I am proud of all of the tea partiers. I wish i could have been their but I am new to florida. I wonder if their is a way to be counted and not arrive. I was shocked when I complained about the taxes to a friend and this friend said you must pay. I don’t want to pay and I don’t want our children to pay and I don’t want our grandchildren to pay as a matter of fact I think we should all stop paying.
