I’m sure you remember Bill, who gave his life for my freedom last month. There were two really nice tributes to him posted up on Big Hollywood. The first post is about Bill, but does not name him. It was posted right around the time that Bill died. General Tata was unaware, as he was writing about his interaction with Bill in Afghanistan, that Bill was at that moment, breathing his last. Days later, when he learned that Bill had given his life for our country, the general wrote a second piece about Bill.
Please, go read them both.
I was pleased to have a Patriot Rider leave a comment on one of my posts about Bill saying that he’d be riding as part of the funeral escort when Bill was laid to rest at Arlington. It brought tears to my eyes.

That’s Bill’s mother and his fiance, Heather at the funeral. I’m told Heather is showing amazing strength. I still cannot fathom what she has been going through.
I have a follow up post with the same overall theme. It’s important, and I’m still working on it.

You forgot to warn them to have a box of tissues ready when they read Bill’s story. : )
luckily, i knew it was a given to always have a box of tissues when reading a soldier’s story. those were wonderful articles of which the family can be very proud. once again, thank you Staff Sergeant William Vile, and all other military men/women/families, for your sacrifices on our behalf.
