Celebration and Rudy
January 20th, 2008 at 10:13 pm by wRitErsbLock in UncategorizedI don’t think I’ll post many of the eighty-eight pictures I took this evening at the Rudy rally in Celebration. I am so glad we went to this rally. Truly, it was great. A congressman from Southern California spoke first. I think his name was David Dreier.

Second, Jon Voight spoke. His speech was intelligent and passionate, and he wasn’t an idiot (I confess, I expect most celebrities to be idiots).

Then, Florida’s attorney general, Bill McCollum spoke.

Bill had a bunch of people join him on the stage. I don’t know who they were, other than the congressman who had already talked. Do you know who these people are?

We were all excited when Rudy Giuliani finally took the stage. We were so close, only two people in front of us (which is to say one row of bodies). The place was packed. I’m glad we got there early; we got there at four, Rudy arrived at five forty.

Judith is very pretty and was wearing very sparkly lip gloss. She made eye contact with me several times.

Kids, I have to tell you, after hearing him speak, I could vote for Rudy. I’m still for Fred, but I could easily put my weight behind Rudy should Fred drop out (he’s seemed a bit wishy washy this weekend).

Sherlock has really, really great pictures since he has a really expensive camera now. I hope he’ll post some of his pictures for you to see.
I said, “Mr. Giuliani, my husband is right there, could you smile for his camera and be in a picture with me?”

Considering the odd angle (I leaned back to get farther away from the camera hoping for a decent shot), the massive throng of people pressing in, and the security who didn’t want anyone near Rudy, I think it’s a pretty good picture. The other one is actually better, but needs more photoshopping before it can be posted, and I’m not that good with photoshop.

I like Fred. I do. But… he won’t make it to the end. I don’t like writing people off early, but I haven’t seen one add here in Florida. He’s not taken a 2nd in any event. I had wanted a bigger showing for him in SC than he had. He just… seems like he’s part of a master plan, but that he doesn’t really want THE job.
So.
I want to make sure that my vote goes for the person I think can actually get the nomination AND beat the Dem. Rudy can’t be ruled out.

Ummm, that should be ‘ad’. Not add.

I love Fred, and I’m about to bail because I think we shouldn’t fall prey to the Perot factor… but every time I say something on the blog someone jumps on me. It’s not personal; Fred just doesn’t have the support to win… people can go on and vote for a loser but I’m not going to…
Great pics, especially the last one. I can’t vote for Rudy for two reasons, otherwise he’d be fine.

I think that Rudy is the best “leader” by far for the Republicans. My problem is “morals”. For years I criticized Clinton for his lack of morals. Rudy seems to have the same “background”.
Cool! : )

That’s a cool picture at the end.
And Fred has been visiting his mother in the hospital since Saturday night. She has pneumonia.
