OW! I hope your company figures this out. It reminds me of the time back in 1994 when all email sent to our Unix sparc network disappeared into a black hole - I finally managed to track it down to a mis-aligned passwd entry in the server filesystem. I discovered *that* when I ran ’strings’ through a coredump that was generated thru ‘finger’.
Oh the wild wild west excitement of those times!!
