the bright side of life
March 30th, 2008 at 06:59 pm by wRitErsbLock in UncategorizedOn Friday, I unfairly announced I had received super fantabulous news, and then didn’t share that news with you, my loyal readers. To be fair, some of you heard the news via email, but I don’t think I emailed enough you of. Are you ready for this, because this is absolutely HUGE in my world.
Our mortgage payment is going down $254.53 per month!!!
You may recall how horrifyingly scary it was for us last year this time to learn our mortgage had dramatically increased. Eventually, we learned the mortgage company had under-estimated our escrow for the first year we were in the house. It didn’t help that we had neglected to file our homestead exemption that first year. So, to make up for it, the mortgage company way over-compensated and over-estimated the escrow amount for last year, thrusting us into the super scary land of having our income be smaller than our expenses. Sherlock assured me that things would level back out and our mortgage, while still greater than what we paid the first year (**shakes fist at property taxes and increasing insurance costs**) is back in our budget and an amount that will not give me an ulcer.
WOO HOO!
Also, we have been shopping around for home insurance and found a policy that is $300 less per year. That will also help. I’m over the moon excited about the return to financial comfort stability!

That’s AWESOME! I am at once pleased for you and bitter that I’m not getting the same cut. LOL! Really, it’s great news.
pam’s last blog post..Life is cheap everywhere
Pam, after 12 months of falling behind in every single bill, it’s a welcome relief. We’re not out of the woods yet, but we will be! At least I no longer have to live in fear of foreclosure. That’s the worst feeling.
