Canada is deporting an American traitor. I say we welcome this schmuck home with open noose arms.

National Guard Sgt. Corey Glass, 25, says he fled to Toronto in 2006 after serving in Iraq because he did not want to fight in a war he did not support.

Boo hoo. You enlisted voluntarily, dumbass.

Glass, who’s still on active duty and is considered absent without leave, applied for refugee status at the Canadian border in August 2006 on the grounds of objection to military service.

But Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board denied his application for refugee status Wednesday, prompting the Canadian Border Services Agency to issue a June 12 deportation order.

YAY! Send the bastard home so he can be tried as the traitor he is.

The agency says it evaluates each case on its own merits to determine whether the applicant faces a “well-founded fear” of persecution or cruel and unusual punishment if he returns to his home country.

“All refugee claimants have a right to due process,” said Danielle Norris, a spokeswoman for Customs and Immigrations Canada. “When they have exhausted all legal avenues, we expect them to respect our laws and leave the country.”

Right. He doesn’t respect the laws of his own country, what makes you think he’ll respect your laws?

Let’s see… the ripe old age of 25 and a traitor to his country. He’s part of the you-owe-it-to-me generation that will be the down fall of our great nation.

  1. diamond dave Said,

Like you said… he enlisted voluntarily.

Where do these people get the idea that they have the option of not fighting in a war when they enlist? That the whole purpose of the armed forces is to defend our country, even if it means with their blood? Didn’t anybody explain to them that fact? That Uncle Sam owns your butt for the whole term of your enlistment, and sometimes longer?

Spoiled frickin’ brat. I think we should deport his worthless carcass to North Korea.

  2. Whomever Said,

So, if someone signs up voluntarily, that means they have to do every thing they are told? If you volunteer at the Salvation Army, and they tell you to push an old lady in front of a bus, you’d have to do it?

Also, I highly doubt that you were ever in the military, so you don’t have any idea what you’re talking about.

Leaving aside the fact that the top of this page has an Apple keyboard on it (a sure sign of stupidity, since Apples whole premise is that their users are too stupid to wipe their own ass, much less use a keyboard), You are a perfect example of what is wrong with America. People in the past also listened blindly to their leaders, and did as they were told. They have news reels of it from 1942, but it’s hard to understand, because the narration is in GERMAN.

Yes. If you sign up for the armed forces, that means you have to do everything you are told. They’re called orders. You follow them.

  4. Mrs. Who Said,

    Whomever:

I HAVE served in the military (as did my dad and granddad and brother and brother-in-law and father-in-law and ex-husband, but they’re not here right now so you’ll just have to listen to me). So that means I have a right to talk about this situation, correct?

Regarding your example of Germany: because of OUR military’s role in WWII (read: the soldiers and sailors and marines FOLLOWING ORDERS), Germany is no longer listening blindly to their government.

Regarding your example of the Salvation Army: unlike the military, you don’t sign a commitment and swear to follow orders.

Regarding your Apple comment: You lost all credibility by using a vacuous insult. You offered an opinion as a fact. To truly win an argument, facts are needed. *sigh*

I imagine you are a young person who is vastly disillusioned that the real world is not agreeing with you like it should. Responsibility and all that kind of grown-up stuff. And yes, that is my opinion. But then, I’m not trying to win an argument.

    I don’t need to.

(Sorry, WB, for feeding the troll. They’re usually messy eaters. I’ll bring the mop and bucket over later if necessary.)

Sounds like our friend has some issues with authority. Definitely not military material. Good thing this country’s armed forces are staffed with volunteers rather than conscripts like some countries, this guy (or gal) wouldn’t last. Probably can’t hold a decent job and has lots of issues with The Bad Old Police and The Establishment. Also this person revealed their complete and total lack of intelligence by comparing the military with the Salvation Army. That particular statement was so blatantly ignorant and idiotic that any further rational discussion with this individual is pointless. Some people are too stupid to have a keyboard.
