It’s Florida out there. Wherefore is it Florida out there?

We went to a lighthouse this morning. We arrived around 930a. It was already like a bajillion degrees outside. We beat the mad rush of people, so that was good. We climbed the light house. The view and breeze were lovely. We toured the old light house keeper’s home. And then, we left as the mad rush of people arrived.

We drove around Miami a bit. Sherlock acted like a tourist: hanging outside the window taking pictures. Obviously I couldn’t do that and forced him to do it since I was driving and all. We had lunch at a Cuban restaurant with an inexplicably French name: Versailles. I had lechon asado (roast pork), it was delicious. Sherlock had oxtail stew, it was delicious. Amanda had vaca frita (fried cow), it was delicious. I didn’t sample Eric’s food. For dessert, we had the best tres leches cake I’ve ever had.

Next, we visited Coral Gables and spent quite a bit of time acting like tourists at the Biltmore. It was built, I believe, in 1925. I took lots of pictures. You can tell I’m studying architecture by the things I took pictures of.

Then, we stopped at a mall called the Falls. And followed that up with ice cream.

Now, I’m resting. I feel like I’ve driven over three hundred miles in the past twenty-four hours.
