   Pepper spray? Pepper spray?!? What kind of Southerner are you? I’m going to get myself a concealed carry permit and carry a big kickass Colt 1911 with a laser sight, once I’m a naturalized American.

   OK, so I’m VERY unlikely ever to be targeted for rape. I’m even more unlikely to be running in the first place, if the average temperatures in South Carolina are anything to go by.

   I’m trying to go native though, and I’ll never be able to prove to my fiance’s redneck relatives that I’m not just a Euroweenie gun-fearing wussy unless I purchase at least a handgun, shotgun, assault rifle, and a totally illegal rocket launcher. And probably a chainsaw, too.

   I don’t mind, really. I like big explosions.

   Oh, and I should probably have explained - my fiance is from SC and we had to decide whether to live over here or over there, eventually.

   I love it over there but hate it over here, now - Stonehenge and Windsor Castle somehow just aren’t making up for Gordon Brown and NuLabour’s policies any more. Not even the Cerne Giant does, although it’s always good for comedy value. There’s no way that I’d bring up kids in this country these days. Also, there are more Taco Bells over there. No Contest.

   Good reason for female joggers and bicyclist to carry concealed, if possible. Can’t wait for the day it hits the news when one of these attackers hiding in the bushes ends up getting shot dead.
