Ask me about that run!
November 17th, 2008 at 08:48 pm by wRitErsbLock in UncategorizedI went to Monday night training with my team this evening. I had to go because I slept in this morning, and therefore did not train on my own. Also, I had to go to give my coach renewed faith in me, since Saturday was such a farookin disaster. (If you click to see Saturday’s details, please keep in mine my iPod only registered 16 miles, but I actually did 18.)
Tonight’s run was fabulous! I kept up a really decent pace. I felt great. I only did four miles, but they felt great. I ran with a girl who is a much better runner than I am, but she was still in a world of hurt from Saturday, so instead of me trying to do her insane run nine minutes walk one pace, we did my walk two run one pace. And sometimes we ran longer than just one minute. We kept up a great pace, and I felt great. I got the much needed endorphin rush I have not had the last several runs. It was great.
I desperately needed tonight’s run to be so fantastic. I was so down after Saturday, you’d be amazed how much a crappy run can depress you. I so needed to have a fabulous run to remind me that I can do this. Because I can! And with your financial help, I can meet my fund raising goal. I am now only $720 away from the goal. We can do this! Go team!
I’m still on a high from this evening’s run, and it’s been an hour and forty minutes since I stopped. Yay for feeling fantastic! Sure, my usual aches and pains are there, but the high I’ve been missing is also there. Anyway, I am finding that this marathon is the best fat burner ever. And I’m trying to figure out if I can feasibly do TNT fundraising again for the Anchorage Marathon next year. As much as I hate running, I kind of enjoy it, too.
Oops… forgot to give the details:
Distance: 4.04 mi
Duration: 56′23″
Pace: 13′57″ /mi
