Gardasil: finally receiving some negative publicity
August 13th, 2008 at 08:27 am by wRitErsbLock in Checking the headlines, GardasilI have been ranting about the evil poison Gardasil for a year. I get so angry every time I hear commercials for it. I receive emails from people who have found my little blog by searching for information about the negative side effects of Gardasil, Gardasil as a poison, and other search terms. These people share horror stories with me. And, frequently leave their horror stories in my comments. It breaks my heart.
It is good, then, to finally see something like this up on CNN.
There are online support groups for women and girls who have suffered negative side effects.
Please please please don’t poison yourself or your daughter. Please. It’s too early to understand all the effects of this totally unnecessary drug.
(yes, I’m slow posting the video… my internet has been intermittent, and I just now finally watched the video)

some random site that requires a log in has apparently linked to one of my Gardasil posts.
Which reminds me, Amanda sent me this Gardasil story that I have not yet found the energy to spout off about. The story basically encourages you to drink the Kool-Aid and not worry about the dead bodies around you.
No thank you. I don’t care to poison myself or my daughter. Gardasil is too new, and too dangerous.

2008
Back on July 7th, I had a post on Gardasil that brought out some new readers and commentors. One of them, Archerychic, shared a brief snippet of the heartache she is experiencing watching her best friend suffer ill effects from the Gardasil vaccine. It’s sad to know that her friend is suffering, but I am relieved that Archerychic decided not to poison herself.
Archerychic emailed me this morning with a link to an article that mentions her friend. It’s a long read, but worth it. It mentions several different girls and the awful side effects they have suffered after getting the evil Gardasil shot(s). The article poses a hypothesis at the end, and it’s something I hope scientists and researchers adopt and being studying.
After finding this out I once again looked at the ingredients of the HPV vaccine to see if there was any ingredient that could have any relation to my allergy connection. This is what I found.
Gardasil is the only vaccine that I know of that has L-Histidine listed as a buffer agent for the ingredients of the vaccine.
She goes on to talk about Histidine in depth before writing:
What if all these girls, 8838, have a family history of allergies? It would stand to reason that they may have an elevated Histidine/Histamine level in their systems. Now, you are injecting additional L-Histidine via the vaccine further raising that level to an overload state. The body, at this time is reacting to the viral ingredients in the vaccine violently. The immune system also recognizes the overload state of the Histidine because of the infusion of L-Histidine to be a threat to the body. So not only is the immune system reacting to the HPV it is reacting to the Histidine. Now the immune system has the memory that Histidine is a threat. Therefore, when the body produces the Histidine the immune system proceeds to destroy it.
As I said, her article is a lengthy read, and I’m not going to copy the whole thing here. You can go read it if you’re so inclined. I came away from it wondering if it’s possible the Histidine in the Gardasil vaccine is turning the body’s immune system against the body.
Up until this point the body has been maintained and the myelin sheaths are intact. The body has been successfully removing the heavy metals from the body. The stomach is producing the appropriate amount of gastric juices, etc.
Now you have the immune system destroying the Histidine that is needed to maintain these vital body functions. Eventually, these functions break down. This could be a gradual process; therefore the onset of severe symptoms may not be immediate. It could take weeks or months before a person would take note that something was wrong. It would depend on the person and/or their tolerance level.
You have the body attacking something it needs to maintain the body’s health.
What if that’s true? Shouldn’t that be a simple fix then? Maybe not for those already affected, but to prevent future complications. Couldn’t the makers of Gardasil simply omit the offending ingredient?
I hope the FDA and other scientists start investigating this possibility.
Here’s another article about side effects of the Gardasil poison.
I’d love for Gardasil to be what it claims to be: a cure for four of the causes of cervical cancer. I’d love that. But until more research is conducted, and until we understand why so many girls are experiencing such horrible, often debilitating, side effects, it is too soon to mandate we inject all girls with this sludge.

Gasp! Gardasil: BAD! Who knew?!
July 7th, 2008 at 10:42 am by wRitErsbLock in Thar She Blows!, Checking the headlines, GardasilUh Oh. Gardasil is in the news and the news is negative for a change.
Gardasil has been the subject of 7,802 “adverse event” reports from the time the Food and Drug Administration approved its use two years ago, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Girls and women have blamed the vaccine for causing ailments from nausea to paralysis — even death. Fifteen deaths were reported to the FDA, and 10 were confirmed, but the CDC says none of the 10 were linked to the vaccine. The CDC says it continues to study the reports of illness.
(emphasis my own) While ten confirmed deaths out of twenty-six million doses may seem statistically insignificant to researchers, I think that’s a ridiculously high number. O-N-E-L-E-S-S my ass. Trading the risk of possibly acquiring one of four CURABLE types of HPV for paralysis or death? I’ll take my chances with HPV, thankyouverymuch.
The vaccine’s manufacturer, Merck & Co. Inc., says it has distributed more than 26 million Gardasil vaccines worldwide, including nearly 16 million in the United States. It estimates that 8 million girls and women have received the vaccine in the United States since June 2006.
Holy crap! We are poisoning our young women at an alarming rate because the drug’s makers and marketers are not giving the full story to its victims.
Jesalee’s lawyer, Michael McLaren, said she got the shot on February 27, 2007 and soon developed a fever and felt pain. The next day, he said, Jesalee felt pain in her chest and abdomen.
Her mother, Laura Parsons, said Jesalee spent weeks in the hospital and underwent two surgeries after developing pancreatitis. She says the federal government should have studied the drug more before approving its use.
“I just feel let down by the government,” Parsons said.
I feel very sorry for that fourteen-year old girl, but for her mother to accuse the government of letting her down when she likely did nothing to research the poison prior to offering her daughter up as a guinea pig is asinine. A quick google search for Gardasil risks or Gardasil side effects brings my blog up pretty close to the top, and several far more reputable sites up higher than mine.
Merck, of course, says the healthy girls’ sudden serious unhealthy situations are coincidence and have nothing at all to do with their poison, Gardasil.
I get so angry every time I hear or see a commercial urging parents to poison their daughters with Gardasil. It’s too early to know all the possible long-term negative (and positive, for that matter) effects of this drug. It’s about time the media starts reporting the negative.
(I’ve ranted about this before.)

It’s been a while since I ranted about Gardasil
April 3rd, 2008 at 11:00 pm by wRitErsbLock in GardasilThe evil that is Gardasil is never far from my mind, since the commercials are never far from my television, but I have not ranted about it in a while. I am always happy to see I have probably ten hits a day from people searching for information about Gardasil I am thrilled, then, to receive comments on my older Gardasil posts from women and girls sharing their horror stories, and especially when someone reads a post and the horror stories and decide to either not get the shots at all, or not complete the series of three shots.
Occasionally I follow the search terms that lead to my humble little corner of the interwebs and see what other sites come up. Today, one of the search terms lead me to Evil Slutopia’s Ten things you might not know about Gardasil and their follow up Ten more things you might not know about Gardasil.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again: GARDASIL IS TOO NEW. Don’t let yourself, your wife, your daughter, your sister, or your niece be a guinea pig. The risks are too great.

the danger of Gardasil
January 4th, 2008 at 11:21 pm by wRitErsbLock in Checking the headlines, GardasilLukie sent me this link that I later found on cnn’s site, too. The timing of this article goes along with a lot of people finding my site by searching for various search terms including Gardasil, and with two recent comments. I drew your attention to a comment last week; today I received a new comment on that post that I’d like to draw your attention to at the end of this post.
Health officials have touted the Gardasil vaccine as an important new protection against a cancer-causing sexually transmitted virus. In recent months, they’ve also noted reports of pain and fainting from the shot.
I feel so sorry for the girls who were duped into getting this shot before proper research was done on it, but I am pleased the MSM is finally starting to report on the dangerous side effects.
The pain is short-lived, girls say; many react with little more than a grimace. But some teens say it’s uncomfortable driving with or sleeping on the injected arm for up to a day after getting the shot.
And some girls suffer really scary side effects.
Meanwhile, U.S. health officials have noticed a rise in reports of vaccine-associated fainting in girls. From 2002-2004 there were about 50 reports of fainting; from 2005 until last July, there were about 230. About 180 of those cases followed a shot of Gardasil, which came on the market in 2006.
But it’s not clear that Gardasil’s sting is related to the fainting increase, said Dr. Barbara Slade, an immunization safety specialist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
I’m sure it’s purely coincidental that all these previously healthy, non-fainting girls are suddenly prone to fainting. It can’t possibly be a result of the poison Gardasil injection. ::rolls eyes::
This comment was left on my December 28th post:
(as usual, the emphasis is my own)
as like others i also had two daughters who only got 1 out of a series of three shots. both of my daughter s are experiencing the same things bad headaches my oldest daughter was hospitalized for paralasis of the legs the diaognosis was guillian baree syndrome. both girls have been fainting and not being able to eat much food before feeling like they are going to pop but i contacted an attourney about this so please document everything if i had known then what i know now i would never have given my daughters this shot tell every girl you know.
Terri, I am so sorry for your daughters and for all girls and women who have suffered ill effects from this supposed miracle cure for cervical cancer. I hope more and more women research Gardasil fully before subjecting themself and their daughters to this toxin.
And I keep hoping my step-daughter’s mother doesn’t suddenly decide to poison my step-daughter.
I will be thinking happy thoughts for your daughters.

a quick post about Gardasil
December 28th, 2007 at 12:42 pm by wRitErsbLock in GardasilIt has been a while since there has been anything on my television to get my dander up about Gardasil. However, this morning, a new comment appeared in one of my earlier Gardasil rants. Because the post is from last March, chances are none of you will see the comment. It’s very important, so I emailed Roxie and asked her if I could bring it to the front as it’s own entry. Thank you, Roxie, for sharing your daughter’s experience with me and my readers
(emphasis my own)
Hi: Just wanted to add my 2cents about gardasil- my daughter had taken two of the three vaccines at the urging of our family doctor- she was told it could be spread through casual contact, as in coughing, sneezing, cuts and open wounds in carriers in college labs.. so my daughter decided to take the vaccine. She has had a seizure, fainting spells, swelling in her face, neck and lymph nodes, burning prickles in her legs and scalp to the point where you couldn’t even touch her hair. Her legs began to give out unexpectedly, then came the loss of use. She was sent to Cleveland Clinic where we were told she had too much stress in her life!! Since every one of these symptoms of which I only name a few, came on several days after the injections, we made no connection to Gardasil until after returning from the Clinic. It was through a friend who showed us an article about Gardasil side affects that we realized what was going on. But not until after my daughter decided she felt too bad to take the third dose. Now she suffers from pressure in her head, behind her eyes - another side affect that has been on-going.. and her legs hurt off and on like they are being sledge hammered. Some days she can hardly get around. Wish we had been told that there were other side affects to gardasil other than grand mal seizures and site injection inflamation!
Holy cow! Roxie, I am so sorry your daughter went through all of that, and continues to suffer side effects. Shame on her doctor for spreading lies (honestly, HPV is not like the common cold). I hope your daughter’s experience will reach out and help other women make a more educated decision about beginning the Gardasil series of shots.
I will be thinking happy thoughts that your daughter can make a full recovery.

One Less — Gardasil is back on my television
August 17th, 2007 at 10:47 pm by wRitErsbLock in GardasilI had not seen any commercials for Gardasil in quite some time. Tonight I have seen a commercial twice. They seem to be using older girls in the commercial now, like late teenaged years and adults. I was feeling better about the situation, and then a mom-type came on and said, “at your daughter’s back-to-school physical, ask about vaccinating your daughter. Your daughter can be one less.”
This commercial did make a point of reminding people that Gardasil does not protect against all types of cervical cancer. It glossed over the possible side effects.
Did you know I think Gardasil is a dangerous drug?

Why has Gardasil dropped off my television screen?
July 5th, 2007 at 03:34 pm by wRitErsbLock in GardasilCould it be because Gardasil is a horrible vaccine?
(emphasis is mine)
FDA’s VAERS data base shows that 1,637 adverse event reaction reports were received since it was approved for marketing, June, 2006. Of these, 371 were serious reactions, including three deaths linked to Merck’s vaccine. A female patient “died of a blood clot three hours after getting the Gardasil vaccine.” Two other reports, on girls 12 and 19, reported deaths relating to heart problems and/or blood clotting.
Holy Toledo! Three deaths, two of them from otherwise healthy teenaged girls who developed heart problems from this miraculous vaccine that is supposed to spare them the horrors of HPV?
Other serious AER reports included paralysis, Bells Palsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, and seizures. And of 42 women who were vaccinated with Gardasil while pregnant, 18 experienced complications, ranging from miscarriages to fetal abnormalities, according to new FDA data. One of the 18 women was diagnosed with an abnormal fetus, and a test conducted on another woman during her pregnancy showed an increased risk of fetal defect.
Crikey! Of course, they were already advising against the vaccine for pregnant women, weren’t they?
Karen Collier and Jane Metlikovec of Australia’s Herald Sun point out: “The money/profit motive truly shouldn’t be discounted when looking for the rationale behind this stampede to vaccinate the young. Minimally, more research is needed before the green light is given to incorporate yet another series of vaccines, with questions still being raised about all the shots children receive at present! The ties among so many of the universities, organizations, researchers and physicians with the pharmaceutical companies, obviously, ties that should not be viewed as an outright indictment of anyone or any groups’ motives but, nonetheless, do give one pause!”
YES! That’s exactly what I have been saying. We need more research before we issue a blanket statement that all little girls need to be poisoned vaccinated with Gardasil.
In an article published in the Denver Post (March 22, 2007), Sigrid Fry-Revere, the director of bioethics studies at the Cato Institute provides the following sobering assessment: Gardasil is not all it’s cracked up to be–and, besides, there is NO epidemic of cervical cancer from HPV infections.
“A recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association finds that among women ages 14 to 24, the rate of all 37 types of sexually transmitted HPV combined is 33.8 percent - much lower than the 50 percent figure cited on Merck’s website. More importantly, the rates for HPV 16 and 18 - the two types responsible for 70 percent of all cervical cancers - are astronomically lower: only 1.5 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively. And even among those cases, last month’s American Cancer Association guidelines report that most HPV infections, even carcinogenic ones, resolve without treatment. Approximately 75 percent of infections in adults and 90 percent of those in adolescents disappear on their own.
It’s worth noting that the American Cancer Society sees its fight against cervical cancer as a success story even without Gardasil. When detected early through Pap testing, the survival rate for the disease is over 90 percent.
In short, even without the vaccine, when early detection methods are used, the number of girls who actually are at risk of dying of cervical cancer from HPV is extremely low. Most of the time, the body takes care of the virus without any help whatsoever. Under these circumstances, are we really prepared to spend untold millions administering this vaccine? In truth, the vaccine may very well cause more harm than good.“
WHY IS THIS NOT BEING REPORTED BY THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA? They all jumped onto the Gardasil bandwagon just a few months ago, urging parents to get their little girls the series of shots. Why are they not now reporting on the “uh oh, maybe we were a bit premature” reports now?
(I’ve ranted about Gardasil before.)

running out of Gardasil
April 26th, 2007 at 12:00 pm by wRitErsbLock in Checking the headlines, GardasilI continue to seethe every time I see a commercial for Gardasil. Is it me, or have the ads been tweaked? I am now noticing they’ve added words like “protects against SOME forms of cervical cancer” (not all, as was originally implied), and “Gardasil does not prevent ALL forms of cervical cancer”, and “you should continue to see your doctor for additional screening.” I’m glad they are being slightly more responsible in their advertising (I am not alone in the belief that drug companies should not be allowed to have commercials). But then, I read stories submitted to me by readers (thank you Linette).
In New Hampshire, there is a program for girls to be vaccinated with Gardasil for free.
New Hampshire was the first state to approve free distribution of Gardisil, which protects girls against four strains of a sexually transmitted infection called human papillomavirus, or HPV.
But four months into the program, doctors offices say demand, stimulated by advertising, has led to waiting lists and some soul-searching about who should get the shots first.
“You’ve got a limited supply, you have a lot of people who want it, how do you triage it?” asks nurse practitioner Ardell Currier of Penacook Family Physicians. “How do you ethically and morally distribute the vaccine?”
(emphasis my own) So, because they have seen a commercial of young teenagers jumping rope and singing “O-N-E-L-E-S-S, I’m gonna be one less, one less!” and girls telling the camera that they will now not get cervical cancer because of this wonder drug, parents are racing to get their little girls poisoned vaccinated. Frankly, if I bought into the hype, I’d likely try to get a free $360 series of shots for RTY, too. Free is much more appealing than $360.
But I still say it is TOO SOON to know what the long term effects of this new drug are. The ads are still too misleading. And they’re pushing this drug onto people at too young an age. By the time many of these eleven year olds actually become sexually active, the vaccine will have either become ineffective or be nearly ineffective. There is not enough information yet about the need for booster shots. And injecting this poison into eleven year olds give parents and the girls a false sense of security and can lead to risky behavior later in life as a result.
Although HPV is only transmitted through sexual contact, it’s common enough that about half of all men and women are infected at some point in their lives, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The agency recommends that girls get the vaccine when they are 11 or 12 so they will have immunity before they become sexually active.
Tell me why this vaccine against HPV is only being thrust upon women and not upon men, from whom women acquire the virus?
This whole topic scares the hell out of me. I hate hearing all these sheep are blindly accepting advertising as Scripture and rushing out to poison our children. It’s too soon, people. Too soon.
Parents need to teach their children about risks that exist upon becoming sexually active. PARENTS need to do this. It worries me that these parents are jumping onto this band wagon leading to an unknown, but supposedly cancer-free, destination.

Get your Gardasil rant right here!
March 23rd, 2007 at 03:49 pm by wRitErsbLock in Checking the headlines, GardasilStill making headlines and agitating me…
A national women’s medical group meeting in Orlando on Friday called for mandatory human papillomavirus vaccinations in preteen girls, but Florida legislators decided against the proposal this week.
It’s a highly sensitive topic because the virus can be transmitted through sexual contact, and doctors said the vaccine is most effective when given before sexual activity starts.
The American Medical Women’s Association also recommended that doctors use advanced testing to check all women 30 years old and older for HPV, which can cause cervical cancer.
Can somebody please explain to me why this national woman’s group want to pass a law that takes away my control of my own body? Aren’t some of these women the same who want to keep laws concerning abortion off their bodies?
Abortion: guaranteeing the right to choose to murder babies
Gardasil: denying the right to choose
Seems screwy to me.
Women should already be asking their doctors to screen them regularly for all diseases. I don’t need a law to remind me to have my doctor give me adequate health care.
Gee, where have I posted things about Gardasil before?

still more on Gardasil
March 21st, 2007 at 09:10 am by wRitErsbLock in Thar She Blows!, Checking the headlines, GardasilI think what bothers me the most about all the news stories I have watched or read about Gardasil is the wording. Generally, I hear/read, “the vaccine prevents young women from catching THE virus that causes cervical cancer.” This is very, very misleading. THE VIRUS vs. A VIRUS or even SEVERAL VIRUSES. There is no ONE virus that causes cervical cancer. (Case in point, one of the articles I link below has this title: “Texas Could Override Cancer Vaccine Order”. This is a STD vaccine, not a cancer vaccine.)
Gardasil guards against HPV, one of the viruses that can cause cervical cancer (it does not guarantee a woman will get cancer if they have HPV). HPV, in case you have forgotten because the MSM have not bothered to tell you, is a sexually transmitted disease. Genital Warts. And I’m sure it’s wonderful that there is a vaccine to prevent genital warts, and were I unwed and promiscuous, I would likely be more inclined to get this vaccine AFTER MORE TIME HAS PASSED SO THAT I’M NOT A GUINEA PIG. Because the MSM is still not reporting on the possible side effects of this vaccine.
Meanwhile, in Texas, the debate continues… (I’m inserting the entire article because I want you to read it. Emphasis my own.)
Texas lawmakers are preparing to vote on a measure that would block Gov. Rick Perry’s order requiring sixth-grade girls to be vaccinated against the virus that causes cervical cancer.
The House will have a final vote Wednesday before sending the measure to the state Senate.
The bill, which appears to have more than enough support to override a veto, would make the shots strictly voluntary.
Perry’s executive order has bothered conservatives who said the shot, known as Gardasil, contradicts the state’s abstinence-only sexual education policies. Other critics questioned whether the vaccine has been proven safe.
Perry’s order called for all girls entering the sixth grade to be vaccinated as of September 2008. Parents could refuse the shots for their daughters.
I hope the Governor is outnumbered on this one. The drug is just too new to declare all little girls need to be poisoned vaccinated before entering sixth grade. Florida has been considering passing a similar law requiring little girls to be vaccinated.
Another problem I have with Gardasil is that there is no mention of booster shots. This vaccine is only good for, if I recall correctly, five years. Let’s do some math. Let’s say we take RTY to get her Gardasil shot before she enters sixth grade, because the law requires us to do so. She will be twelve years old, which seems a bit young to require a vaccine against STDs. (I am not naive; I realize some children that young, and younger, are sexually active.) Now then, let’s move ahead five more years. RTY is seventeen, and the vaccine is no longer effective. Only, we’re negligent parental units and don’t think about the fact that RTY probably is sexually active, and we’re in denial, and are not taking her for female doctor appointments. RTY is maybe sneaking to the hell-hole free clinic that I went to when I became sexually active at nineteen. It’s a free clinic, so RTY will get free birth control pills, but will they be dolling out free $120 per shot (series of three shots = $360) of Gardasil? I doubt it. (Although, they did give me a free Rx when I contracted a curable STD, so maybe they will find a way to give free booster shots.) As uninvolved parents, are we going to remember (or did we even know in the first place?) that Gardasil only protected our daughter for five years? And now that RTY is actually sexually active, is she assuming she’s protected from HPV, and therefore engaging in riskier activities?
I can tell you from personal experience that even though I knew about STDs and all that, once I went on the pill, I stopped requiring boys to use a condom. I guarantee you I would have been even more inclined to be reckless if I thought I was immune from one of the STDs out there.
Last week, there was an article in lefty Time Magazine by Claudia Wallis, entitled, “Saying Yes to the HPV Vaccine.” Go read it, it’s not too long. (I wonder if Claudia got a free vacation from Merck out of this article?)
For me, the decision to take her [thirteen year old daughter to be vaccinated] wasn’t difficult. Gardasil, which was approved by the FDA last June, protects against four strains of human papillomavirus (HPV). Two are believed to cause 70% of cervical cancer, which strikes about 11,000 U.S. women a year. The other two strains cause 90% of genital warts–so the vaccine is a twofer.
Again, I do see the benefit of the vaccine. I just think it’s too soon, the drug is too new, to pass mandates that say twelve year old girls need to be vaccinated with it.
The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended Gardasil for girls at age 11 or 12, though it may be given any time from ages 9 through 26.
If I’m miffed at age twelve, can you imagine my rage when I read age nine?
To me, protecting my child from cancer outweighs any reluctance to ponder her sexual future. “But some parents are totally in denial,” says my longtime pediatrician
I am not reluctant to ponder RTY’s sexual future. But I hope we will have the type of relationship that she can talk to me about things I could never discuss with my mother. It’s tricky, though, because I am not RTY’s mother, and I have to tread lightly because the egg donor is so psycho. I am, however, reluctant to rush right out and have RTY vaccinated at such a young age. As she gets older, and as the drug has been around longer and we understand it’s effects and side effects more, I definitely see the benefit of protecting RTY from HPV.
Maybe I’m jaded because RTY is only ten years old, and we have more time before potential laws affect her.
This drug scares me. It’s too new. The side effects are SCARY SCARY SCARY. And the media, no doubt under pressure from drug lobbyists, are not providing the full story (shocking, I know).
Many parents are sheep who choose not to do any research before jumping on the latest and greatest band wagon.
