My husband has My2WheeledLife back online. Sort of. The URL is alive again, but the content is not currently alive. I have faith that he’ll have my favorite blog back up and running at full speed soon.

It just goes to show that he misses my scooter blog, too.

Wow, before I could even hit publish, my blog appeared! YAY! My scooter blog is my favorite of my plethora of blogs. And, some of you have missed it, too.

This means all our missing sites will be popping back online here shortly. Mine was first, because, frankly, it has the most earning potential since I do that annoying paid blogging thing and all.

Please, please, please go vote for me, even though I suck in this recording. A vote for me increases the odds that I can sing the National Anthem before the Styx concert at the end of the month. Which increases the odds that I get to meet Tommy Shaw. Which puts my whole plan into play. Please, even though this recording of me sucks, please vote for me anyway. And tell you friends.

VOTE FOR RACHEL! Do it!

Maya, who totally rawks, has been very generous in donating to my Team In Training fundraiser. Not only has she donated money, twice, but she has emailed me and told me she would like to turn proceeds from her photography sales over to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society via my TNT page until I reach my goal.

I just had a brainwave in the shower this morning: I am starting up a moneymaking venture on my blog, it’s going to be selling photos that I’ve taken. There’s no link yet from my blog to the actual selling site (also on Blogspot), but I was planning on getting it going in the next few days. Anyway, my brainwave was that I would donate every single dollar that the photos make up until your deadline towards your TNT goal.

Maya, I am truly humbled at your heart for charity. You, my dear, are amazing.

So kids, please go visit Maya’s fluff photos page. She has beautiful landscapes, animals, flowers, and my personal favorite (that I’ll be buying in three weeks when I have a little spending money again): Chihuly glass ceiling. Someday I hope to see a Dale Chihuly exhibit. I have been inside a wealthy client’s house where he has a Chihuly glass ceiling and giant chandelier (like what Richmond photographed at the Mayo clinic), and ever since seeing that glass ceiling, I have been a fan of Chihuly.

Sorry for the glass tangent. Please, go visit Maya’s Fluff Photos site. I suspect she will be adding more photos, but what she already has posted are fabulous. Visit her anyway, but if you were wishing you could have something tangible to show for your donation to TNT, well, she’s happy to help you out. Because she is totally awesome like that!

Yay Maya!

Good grief. Youse guys are really missing out since this post is from March 2006. My newest, most frequent, most passionate commenter is going to town, threatening to sue me for slander.

Feel free to jump in and join the debate!

Don’t you just love it when someone goes to town commenting on a post from two years ago? Me too. Go see for yourself.

Youse guys know, because I won’t stop blogging it, that I have signed up with Team in Training to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by training for the Disney Marathon on January 11th. I think most of you also know that fellow blogger, and my friend, Boudicca is also doing TNT for the same marathon. (She is totally kicking butt with her fund raising — she’s at $1,811.18 of her $2,400 right now. I’m at $700 of $2,400. Come on, kids, kick it into gear for me!) I have to tell you, knowing that Bou is going through the same thing I’m going through is probably my biggest encouragement. She and I now email quite a bit to encourage each other and share in our pain. Some of her emails make me LOL.

BTW, I’m getting one of those frickin’ oval 26.2 stickers I see people have on their cars, after I complete. Everyone who sees my van needs to know I did this. I’m not kidding.

I thought I mentioned on here that I, too, am very excited to put a 26.2 sticker onto my Element, but I cannot find that entry. I never got past the childish need to have a sticker for a reward!

Then, there’s the shared need for encouragement that both Bou and I are requiring, but not quite receiving from people in our lives. It’s nobody’s fault, people are supportive, but, unless you are experiencing the sheer torture, you don’t really understand.

I told husband yesterday I get so aggravated because people don’t get how hard it is and it depresses me. The Runners, the TRUE runners, think I’m a wimp and need to just train to run the whole thing. I’m blogging on that one tonight. Everyone else is like, “Oh, you’re walking it…” like… they could do it too.

The thing is… they can’t. I don’t care how much they live in the gym, do the elliptical, swim, or just ‘think about it’, they can’t. Unless you train to walk a marathon, there is no way you can do 26.2 in the time frame we have to do it in. Hell, they can’t do it period.

So it irritates the ever living shit out of me that all these people think it’s a non-event.

Yup. I share in your frustration. That’s why I’m so glad to have a friend doing this with me. So, even though we’re a couple hours away from each other, there is some comfort in knowing that at 5a, when my tired butt is running, that Bou’s equally tired butt is running, and that she shares in my exhaustion.

And our exhaustion pales in comparison to what someone fighting cancer endures. Please, give.

On Friday, when money appears in my paypal account from the small amount of paid blogging I do, I am transferring that money over to Chris Muir, of Day By Day. It’s the least I can do. He’s a nice guy who tolerated me stalking him and created a cartoon about it! I want to help him to continue creating Day By Day.

(darnit, the server hosting the picture of Chris is still down. grrrr.)

UPDATED: The pictures are now back in that post I linked to.

Yes, yes, there has been a decrease in bloggage from me. I’m very sorry about that. Work has been making me pull my hair out. I hate when work interferes with my goofing off.

Meanwhile, sherlock has posted more this week than he has in months. So, head on over to Bakerstreet if you’re upset with the Pereiraville drought.

We were so close to meeting Mrs. Who and BitterRoot last night. They were going to come join us for dinner, libations, and just good old adult fun/conversation here at my cousin’s beach front condo. It promised to be a wonderful evening. While we awaited their arrival, we headed down to the beach to kayak and swim, since the water was so calm. I was out splashing in the water when CiL motioned for me to come in to shore. Mrs. Who had called. Now, I couldn’t quite hear due to the noise of the waves, and the slight wind, but it had something to do with gas. Either she had left the gas card in the other car, and the kids had that car, or they had stopped at Taco Bell and BitterRoot had gas and the car was not well ventilated. I’m not sure which it was. I don’t think Mrs. Who was gasping for breath, so it must have been the credit card in the other car.

There will be another opportunity, but it was sad to miss this one.

Soon, my friend. :)

I spend an unhealthy amount of time on Plurk. I don’t know why I enjoy it so much. Unlike MySpace or Facebook, on Plurk, I am befriending people I don’t know in reality. I’m enjoying the often witty banter that goes on in Plurkitstan. And, I have met some people worth knowing, including fellow Orlandoan writer, Renegade.

Renegade Sanctuary is a new-to-me blog. I’m excited that Renegade has finished his first draft of his novel, and hope to suck some of his motivation and get back to work on my own novel. (Since my iBook died a horrible death at the beginning of the year, I have not touched my novel.)

Go check out Renegade Sanctuary. He has several entries linking to fun and exciting coffee tables. And, he is a good writer.

He sent me info on a local creative group that meets not far from husband’s office. If I can get past my irritating shyness, I might just drop in on one of their meetings.

Go forth and comment, because I’m still buried in work and don’t have much time to blog at you right now.

Holy visitor count, batman! I hit 75K a few minutes ago. You always hope it’s someone you know for the milestones so you can properly thank them. But, alas, number 75,000 was a visitor in the general vicinity of Hamden, CT, who searched (unsuccessfully) for pinky ringery joe pesci. I don’t have that video and have not been able to find it when last I searched. But thanks for stopping by and being number 75K!

In related news, I have already hit my normal daily hit quota, which means I will likely double my normal daily hit quota. I tend to average around seventy-five hits per day, and am currently at seventy-three. Lots of people are clicking over here because, like many others, I am concerned about Caylee Anthony. I say the more people hearing her name and seeing her face, the better.
