RTY’s blog is back. She even blogged.

All the domain names we own are back online. Oh, sure, there may be nothing there (::cough:: Lukawitz ::cough::), but they are back online. I can rebuild Lukawitz whenever I want to. We opted not to put Lukawitz, as it existed, back online because it was HUGE. Absolutely huge. I had thousands of pictures hosted on Lukawitz. Frankly, we’re too cheap to pay for all my nostalgia. So, either I’ll post pictures up on my flickr account as I find it necessary, or I’ll just accept that fact that my pictures are no longer online.

I’m betting I’ll at least get my wedding pictures back online at some point. And, since I have ample free time on my hands right now, I can do that this week. Of course, I’ll be hired for my fabulous new job tomorrow, so the pictures will remain unposted. I’m okay with that, too.

Lukawitz also had all my writing. Ever since I registered Pereiraville, I had decided to have Lukawitz just be for my creative writing. I will get my writing back online here shortly. I miss having quick and easy access to my writing.

No, you’re not imagining it. Our server is down and has been for several days. So, RTY’s site, Lukawitz.com, DementedFilms.com, My2WheeledLife.com, RuckusRider.com, and all our domain names except Pereiraville and Bakerstreet are down. We’re only paying to host two of our sites, the rest are hosted in the house. TS Fay did something to us, and during one of the power outages, something happened to the server. So, for the time being, we are just a two website family.

I don’t know when they’ll be back. But, I might cough up the extra dough to have my scooter blog hosted externally, as that’s my favorite blog.

Good grief but we have a lot of domain names. I think we now have more than fifteen. I can’t keep them all straight! We need to get non-web-related hobbies. I think maybe I’ll go run a marathon! Or, like so many others, I could act like a local and embrace my inner Orlando golfer. Pshaw! Can you imagine? Golf was the most frustrating unit of PE when I was in high school in Skaneateles. How the heck do people find trying to hit that tiny white ball relaxing?!

Hopefully by the end of the day today, my scooter blog will be moved to it’s new home. Wordpress has the ability to import blogger blogs, but I couldn’t get it to import last night. And I have precious little patience for such things. I’ll try during lunch today. Or at home tonight. But I do want my blog moved and fully functional. Once it’s there, I can pretty-ify it.

Yay! Sherlock has the rest of our domain names back online. They’re not all running full speed yet, but at least they’re kinda back.

I’m thrilled beyond words that all my pre-flickr-use pictures are back online. Yay!

Hey Claudia, my wedding pictures are back!

You may notice my blog roll is no longer in my side bar. I have created a new page (and tab at the top) called Linky Love. Linky Love is where you will find my blog roll. I’m just trying to tidy things up a little bit around here.

our server (that hosts everything but Pereiraville and Bakerstreet) is down. Thus the missing pumpkin pictures.

Sorry, kids. There’s not much I can do about it. So I’ll just go ahead and take the pumpkin post down and repost it tonight or tomorrow.

Meanwhile, that means RTY’s site is down today.

Curious… I can still see the wedding pictures. Same server. What does that mean?

the poetry slam will return.

Our Mac Mini encountered issues last month. We sent it home with our personal IT guy who has not yet returned it to us. Meanwhile the older Mac has been re-tasked as the web server for the sites that we have not transferred over to Hosting Matters (I think we still have five or six domains we’re hosting here at home). The drive that was on the older Mac was cloned and is sitting in an external hard drive case so that the Mac can just focus on being the server. Sadly, that computer is not as useful since everything that was on it is no longer.

Are you still with me?

That computer no longer has my program I need to download the pictures wirelessly off my camera, so I connect up to this iBook to access my pictures. But, my computer doesn’t see the videos I record on my Nikon in iPhoto, so I can only access those at work. The older Mac no longer has Photoshop on it, neither does my iBook, so I cannot edit pictures. And, perhaps most important, sherlock cannot easily acquire video from the camcorder to utilize Final Cut to edit our poetry slams.

We have several recorded, we just can’t do anything with them right now.

Think happy thoughts that the Mac Mini’s issues will be resolved so we can get things back to normal here at Pereiraville. I, for one, would like to see some new poetry slams posted.

my sidebars are not appearing correctly. I have given up, and I think sherlock has, too. Exploiter sucks.

I am slowly going through and fixing broken picture links because I moved the picture folder off Pereiraville and onto Lukawitz. This is a time-consuming process. I have fixed all the pictures on RTY’s site. And I have October 2005 and July-August 2007 fixed over here. I still have twenty months of posts to go through just on my Word Press blog, and then two or three years of non Word Press posts to go through after that. So this will be a very long process. Thanks for your patience!

So… my side bars are screwed up this morning.

I think sherlock is still in the process of uploading Pereiraville to Hosting Matters. Not sure though. All I know is that on this computer, my site is wonky.

If my blog is showing up wrong for you (like as in a blank white screen), it’s time for you to upgrade your Safari. That’ll fix it.

I think we are now running on the new Apple Airport Extreme router. Sherlock was working on it last night.

But… we will continue to have crashing issues for at least the rest of the week. Something happened to the Mac Mini during all the chaos of trying to get the first Airport working. Somehow the Mac Mini got corrupted. The Mini is our web server. It has been out of commission since the weekend. Sherlock backed the sites up and moved them to another Mac. But it’s an older, slower Mac. Until we get the Mini working properly again (hopefully not too many more days — I think we’re handing it off to Stryker tonight to work on), I’m just going to expect the site to continue to have seriously frustrating issues.

Also, I believe the server is scheduled to restart in the early part of the one o’clock hour. Sherlock set the Mac to restart in the hope that it would alleviate some of the Word Press crashing issues. Of course it didn’t work yesterday: the Mac restarted a little after one, and the Word Press sites crashed a little after two. (Our non-WP sites don’t crash when WP crashes.)

I am having problems keeping the server going, it keeps crashing. As such I have cloned the drive to another computer and am now running from that one. I will be working on the server the next few days. Anything posted to the site may get lost in the shuffle. I’ll try to not lose posts but I can’t promise that. Post at your own risk. If the site is up that is!

yes, we were down all night. It turns out our brand new Apple Airport Extreme is defective. Customer support at Apple just told us to exchange it. At least we’re not imagining our inability to get our router to work properly. So… we’re taking it back this afternoon and will hopefully encounter very few issues in setting up the new new router.
