We’re watching one of the James Bond movies, as apparently there is a marathon this weekend, and one of my celebrity crushes is in this one. So, suddenly I’m actually watching. I heart Alan Cumming. He is so cute! Pity about me not being his type.

Anyway, my husband is so patient with me and my inane celebrity crushes. Oh, sure, I recently had to break up with one of my celebrity crushes, but there are still several out there. And, if we are going to continue to be watching My Own Worst Enemy every week, I’m probably going to renew my high school crush I had on Christian Slater.

Speaking of Slater, we were watching Kubrick’s version of The Shining last night, and that younger version of Jack Nicholas Nicholson really reminds me of Slater. Although, I suppose it’s better stated that Slater reminds me of a younger version of Nicholson.

We didn’t finish watching the movie last night, so I have still not seen that movie in its entirety. I may read the book again though. I always thought The Shining was one of the scariest books ever.

Anyone out there reading the Twilight series besides me? Have you read book four yet? I’m only through chapter six, and don’t have the book with me. But I want to discuss it with you if you’re reading it too.

Chime in via comments or email, I wanna talk about this book.

My wonderful husband downloaded the trailer for the movie Twilight, which is based on the book Twilight, that I finished reading two weeks ago. (I finished the sequel this afternoon.)

I have to say, based on the trailer, it doesn’t look like they have screwed up the movie. I can’t wait to see this! It opens November 21st.

We’re heading out to the bookstore at RTY’s request. That works out well for me so that I can begin reading book three of the series.

I mentioned yesterday that I had a phone call regarding my resume. Truthfully, it doesn’t sound like a job I would actually want, but, as I told my husband, I can use the interview practice, if nothing else. So, when they call me to schedule the interview, I’ll go.

I have been trying to think of the questions I’ll be asked.

(Lots of profanity and adult themes. The part I’m referencing starts around 6:19, then continues in the next link.)

current affairs… What do you think of current affairs, Daisy? What do I think about them? I like them. I think they’re good. The last thing I want to do is going into an interview and sound like Daisy. (Daisy’s interview starts around 30 seconds. There is a lot of profanity in those first thirty seconds, consider yourself warned, as Brian was on an F bomb roll.)

So, yeah, I’m trying to think about job interviews. And not saying “girl power.”

My first favorite Styx song is Castlewalls.

My second favorite Styx song was third in their set last night. Too Much Time On My Hands:

It’s crappy video. We had a lousy, lousy location. I recorded the entire concert except for one song (Lady, because I recorded that one at the last concert in Tampa, and it was a much better video than what I would have taken last night).

The only good video I took last night was of their encore, Renegade, because I was able to push much closer to the stage for that one.

I know youse guys don’t like Styx the way I do, so you can just ignore all videos, because I will be posting them. It’s all about me and my enjoyment!

I do not “get” this song at all. Why is it in my head? I’m not watching the video. I’ve only ever heard this song twice, both times were RTY doing it at karaoke.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

Apparently The Sarah Chronicles premiered last night. I can’t read SarahK’s review as it likely contains spoilers.

We need to set up the DVR again.

They say Phillip Seymour Hoffman will play the penguin in the next Batman movie. I heart him. And Johnny Depp as the Riddler will be great, too. I appreciate JD, but I heart PSH.

I gave up on ER several years ago because their lefty slant was agitating me. The last thing I need to be is angry at bed time. So, no more ER.

All summer, we’ve been seeing commercials for their most shocking season yet, with big surprises. As the announcer says “surprises,” Dr. Carter is shown. So, that’s not going to be the surprise. I said to my husband, “the only really good surprise would be if they brought Mark Green back from the dead.”

And so they are. Sort of.

I still won’t watch this season.

Note to my husband:
My mailman, Oto, just gave me a pass to a free movie: Traitor. Yay for free movies. Here’s the catch: the movie is tonight. 730p. Winter Park Village. We’re on our scooters, and I will be sweaty and smelly from my 6p training run.

I have two passes. Do any of your co-workers want to go?

We slept in quite a bit this morning: 940a. That’s really late for us. But, when I was wide awake at 630a, I tried to tell myself to get up and go run. I did not, however, get up because I’ll be running tomorrow night with the team, and they want us to run every other day right now.

I moved out to the couch and turned on the television. (This is a riveting entry, is it not?!) I like to watch The Soup at 1030 on Sundays (since I missed it at 10a on Saturday, which is when I really prefer to watch it). The Soup cracks me up, but it has a few too many acne cream commercials for my taste. But, before The Soup, we caught a bit of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Really, it’s amazing how much BBC we watch. Now, we’re watching Top Gear, on BBC. This show amuses me to no end. You really should be watching it.

The problem with Sunday morning tv is that we get sucked into Top Gear. I think they put three episodes on. It’s difficult to turn the television off and not watch all three episodes. I’m going to have to do it, though, once this episode ends so that I can shower and go get my fabulous pair of running shoes, in preparation for tomorrow night’s team training.

Do you get sucked into television shows on weekend mornings?

And also

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m trying to figure out how to set up this computer. So far, Quickbooks keeps crashing, and Outlook is being a PITA. I just love technology.

the Olympics made me totally forget that Eureka was on the other night. I hate when that happens.

Is that one of the shows I can download and watch on my Apple TV?

in sort of live blog format, as I feel the need to update.

The drums at the beginning — well, I imagine if I were there, my heart would have been racing. It was so beautiful and just extraordinarily magnificent.

The children in costume carrying the flags, and the nine year old little girl who sang: so cute.

The calligraphy interpretive dance: eh. But I’m not one who especially enjoys dancing.

This bamboo scroll to printing press thing: a little weird.

The Coke commercial with the birds stealing straws who then make a mini Birds Nest stadium in a tree overlooking the Birds Nest Stadium: brilliant!

This just in: RTY has liked all the sparkly hats.

This dance where the girl danced on top of the group of people was really nifty.

This thing with the massive oars: quite beautiful. They are very artistic, are they not?

The fluorescent green Christmas tree people: I never really thought they were such bad little trees. The just need a little love.
